ABOUT E&M

Hi there, Thank you for checking out my website. I am Emma and being a photographer has to be the best job in the world for me. I am so happy I decided to take the big scary step into making my dream a reality.
I am laid back, fun loving. I’m a mix of silly and calm, which is good when I need to make you laugh or get everyone feeling comfortable during photo sessions. I live in Buxton with my husband Martin (the M in E&M) and our 3 amazing children. My little family is my absolute world and I love our crazy busy, chaos filled adventures.

Taking the photo below of my children in the paint was the turning point for me and the beginning of E&M. My maternity leave was nearly up and the reality of how fast time goes hit me. I wanted to capture my three having fun, freeze the moment before life got crazy again. In doing so it made me realise... this is what I want to do, why wait any longer. It was the perfect time to make a change!! Do what I have wanted to do for so long. Do what friends and family have told me to do for years - to share my passion for photography.

So E&M was born and I am so happy I made the decision to follow my dreams. I love the fact that every time I take a picture, I capture moments that will last a lifetime. Time is one of those things we can't control or ever get back. I want to give you a forever-reminder of your children's joy as they run into your arms. Her dimples, his giggles or the gappy smiles! I will always go the extra mile for that stand out shot.

MY BACKGROUND

Before E&M I had been working in nursery's for over 20 years, I have a level 3 diploma in early years childcare so when it comes to the younger clients I pride myself on making photo shoots fun for the little ones in your life. I also trained in Forest Schools, so having seen the benefits outdoor learning has for children has been big catalyst for my shoots being mostly outdoors. I have always been pasinate about photography, and over the years I have seen that traditional photography may not be inclusive for everyone often be stressful for little ones (and let’s be honest, sometimes adults). This is why I strive to create a comfortable and enjoyable experience. With years of experience in early childhood and a unique creative flair, I ensure that every session is fun and engaging. My mission is to celebrate the real moments that showcase the true spirit of each individual and family.

CAPTURING INDIVUALITY

Our 3 children are my inspiration and they show me everyday how everyone is beautifully unique. I have two sons and a daughter and they couldn't be more different. This is why I understand how important it is to capture your true personality in each photograph. We take the time to get to know each of our clients, so we can create stunning and personalised photos that truly reflect who you are as a person. Whether you or your child loves to dance and be creative, like our daughter... Explore looking at the worlds little details like our youngest... Or like our oldest always looking for the next thrill-seeking adventure...We make it our priority to bring out everyone's unique personality in every shot.

MEET MARTIN

Martin/Marty/Mart...the most laid back, fun loving, biggest kid I know!!!

He is not only my husband, hes my biggest support, rock and the other half of E&M.

I wouldn't want to do life without him! He is an incredible photographer and often gives up his free time to help on some sessions. We find our combined skills work really well. Mart has a BA(HONS) in fine arts, specialising in photography so his support and showing me all his little tips to get that stand out photo has been amazing. We always compete with each other to get the best photo...you will see us on a shoot having a little competition to see who gets that stand out image!!

I LOVE Family time, it is so special to me so when we aren't working or doing our loft conversion on our house ( we are currently doing the work ourselves with the help of some truly amazing family and friends...I've become a dab hand at plaster boarding, but we are nearly done!) we love going on adventures or relaxing with a beer having games nights. Our absolute fave is long sunny days on the beach, BBQ and drinks with our favourite people.
